Dr Allan Lyons was born in Jamaica. He attended the University of the West Indies where he attained the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.,B.S.) degree. After completing his internship in Nassau, he went to England to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before returning to the Bahamas as a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is a Consultant at Princess Margaret Hospital, is a certified Colposcopist, Holds the Diploma of Family Planning (DFFP), is a member of the Bahamian Medical Council and a member of the Medical Association of the Bahamas.
Dr Lyons was elevated to a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians in Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2017.
